The
Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center is home to a variety of
indigenous Belizean cats and other animals kept in natural surroundings.
In 1983, Sharon Matola was in charge of 17 Belizean animals during
the second shooting of a wildlife film called Path of the Raingods.
By the time thefilm was over, her animals were partly tame and might
not have survived in the wild, so Matola founded the zoo. |
